The route passes through some of Vietnam's best coastal scenery before climbing into the cool highlands of Lam Dong province. Da Lat sits at 1,500 m — the air is noticeably cooler than Hoi An, and the French colonial architecture, flower farms, and pine forests make it one of the most distinctive cities in Vietnam.
