Waiting Time & Overtime Policy
How waiting time works for private transfers, sightseeing stops and day trips — and when additional time may affect the price.
We do not want guests watching the clock during every minute of their trip.
Small delays and normal travel variations are part of travelling. We try to keep the service practical and flexible.
Overtime is mainly relevant when a booking is extended significantly beyond the service duration that we confirmed with you. If an additional charge is needed, we will normally explain it before you continue.
Waiting Time Depends on the Trip You Book
Not every Minh Vu Travel booking works on the same time basis.
A direct airport transfer is different from a transfer with a sightseeing stop, and both are different from a full-day private car service.
Point-to-Point Service
A direct transfer is normally priced for travel between the confirmed pickup and drop-off points without a long sightseeing or waiting period.
Transfer With Stops
If a sightseeing stop is included, the quotation may include an agreed amount of time for that visit.
Longer Private Car Service
Full-day and round-trip services may include a set service duration, such as the number of hours confirmed in your booking.
Your Confirmed Booking Is the Main Reference
When a service has an included time limit, we will normally state it in the quotation or booking confirmation.
For example, some Minh Vu Travel day-trip or round-trip services are quoted with up to 8 hours of service.
Other trips may include a shorter sightseeing period or may be priced by the route rather than by a full-day time limit.
The duration and overtime rate confirmed for your individual booking take priority over a general example on this page.
We Do Not Charge Overtime for Every Small Delay
Travel does not always run exactly to the minute.
A few extra minutes collecting luggage, walking back from an attraction or getting through normal traffic should not automatically become an overtime charge.
We look at the overall service and whether the booking has been meaningfully extended beyond what was originally agreed.
Our aim is to be fair and practical, not to calculate every minute against the customer.
When We Would Not Normally Treat the Delay as Guest Overtime
We do not normally treat extra time as customer-requested overtime when it results from circumstances such as:
- Normal traffic delays during the confirmed route
- A reasonable airline flight delay for an airport pickup
- Time lost because our driver or vehicle is delayed
- Temporary road or traffic restrictions during the journey
- A reasonable delay caused by the agreed pickup procedure
Unusual situations are handled based on what actually happened during the booking.
When Overtime May Apply
Additional time is more likely to affect the price when the guest chooses to extend the confirmed service.
- Staying substantially longer at an attraction than the time included in the booking
- Extending a day trip beyond the confirmed service duration
- Adding another destination or significant sightseeing stop
- Adding a long meal, shopping or personal stop that was not included in the original arrangement
- Asking the vehicle to remain available significantly longer than originally agreed
Where practical, we will confirm the additional cost before you decide to extend the service.
How Additional Hours Are Charged
The overtime rate depends on the service and will be confirmed as part of the booking where an hourly extension rate applies.
This is a common overtime rate for many of our standard private car day-trip arrangements.
The rate confirmed in your individual booking is the final reference.
Some special services, larger vehicles, long-distance arrangements or unusual schedules may have a different extension rate. We will confirm this when relevant.
When Does the Service Time Start and Finish?
For a service quoted by duration, the time normally begins from the confirmed pickup time and ends when the agreed service is completed.
If the pickup time itself changes, our team will check how the revised time affects the booking.
Small practical adjustments do not automatically change the price.
The Driver May Not Always Stay Parked Beside the Attraction
At some destinations, especially attractions with long visits or special parking arrangements, the driver or vehicle may not remain beside the entrance for the whole time.
Minh Vu Travel may instead arrange a return pickup when you are ready to leave.
For services where this system is used, we normally ask guests to message us approximately 30–45 minutes before they expect to be ready.
This gives our operations team enough time to arrange the vehicle and reach the permitted pickup area.
Ba Na Hills & Similar Long Visits
For Ba Na Hills and some other attractions where guests may spend several hours inside, the vehicle does not necessarily remain parked in exactly the same place throughout your visit.
When you are coming back down and are nearly ready for pickup, message our team as instructed so we can coordinate the vehicle.
Your total included service duration is based on the arrangement confirmed in your booking.
Allow Time for the Vehicle to Return
Parts of Hoi An Ancient Town are restricted to vehicle traffic.
For bookings where the vehicle is not waiting continuously, we may ask you to message us around 30–45 minutes before you want to leave.
We will then guide you to the practical vehicle-access point for your return pickup.
Sometimes Extending the Trip Is Not a Good Idea
If your booking ends at an airport, cruise port or another service with a fixed departure time, we may recommend leaving a sightseeing stop earlier.
Even when extra waiting time is available, we do not want to extend the trip in a way that puts your flight or ship departure at unnecessary risk.
Our team will give practical advice based on the route, traffic and departure time.
What If the Service Extends Late Into the Night?
Some services have different operating costs during late-night hours.
If extending your trip creates a late-night surcharge or another significant additional cost, we will tell you when it becomes relevant.
If the late-night timing was already included in your confirmed quotation, it will not be added again.
Just Tell Us
If you are enjoying the trip and want to stay longer, message us.
We will check the driver's schedule, the vehicle arrangement and whether the trip can be extended.
Where extra time changes the price, we will normally tell you the additional cost before you continue.
Our goal is to help you enjoy the trip without creating a surprise at the end.
Waiting Time & Overtime Questions
Practical answers based on how Minh Vu Travel normally operates.
Does Minh Vu Travel charge for every extra minute?
No. We try to allow reasonable flexibility for normal travel delays and small timing changes. Overtime is mainly relevant when the confirmed service is extended significantly.
How many hours are included in my booking?
It depends on the service. If your booking has a fixed service duration, such as an 8-hour day trip, we will state it in your quotation or booking confirmation.
What is Minh Vu Travel's overtime rate?
A common rate for many standard private car day-trip arrangements is 100,000 VND per additional hour. However, the rate confirmed for your specific booking takes priority.
Will traffic delays count as overtime?
Normal traffic delays during the confirmed journey are not normally treated as guest-requested overtime.
Will a delayed flight count as waiting-time overtime?
A reasonable flight delay for an airport pickup is not automatically treated as customer-requested overtime. Please provide the correct flight number so our team can follow the arrival information.
Can I stay longer at an attraction?
Usually we can check this for you. If the longer visit significantly extends the confirmed service duration, an additional hourly charge may apply. We will normally tell you first.
Can I add another sightseeing stop?
Often yes. If the added stop changes the distance, service time or driver schedule significantly, we will check availability and confirm any extra cost.
Does the driver wait at Ba Na Hills all day?
Not necessarily. The vehicle or driver may be scheduled according to the agreed return pickup arrangement. When you are nearly ready to leave, message us as instructed so we can coordinate the pickup.
How early should I message for return pickup?
For services using an arranged return pickup, around 30–45 minutes' notice is normally helpful. We will tell you if your booking requires a different arrangement.
What happens if my trip runs into late-night hours?
A late-night surcharge may apply depending on the confirmed service and timing. If it is not already included in your price, we will tell you when it becomes relevant.
Can I extend my car service on the same day?
Often yes, subject to driver and vehicle availability. Message us and we will check whether the service can be extended and confirm any additional cost.
