Ba Na Hills lower cable car station is around 45 km from Hoi An Ancient Town by road. The route normally runs north from Hoi An toward Da Nang, then west toward the mountain area of Hoa Vang. In normal traffic, the drive usually takes about 60–70 minutes by private car, depending on your exact hotel location, traffic and weather near the mountain.

Distance should be understood as the practical driving distance to the lower cable car station, not a straight-line map distance and not the distance to the mountain summit. From most Hoi An hotel areas, the exact Google Maps-style route may vary slightly, but the working local estimate is about 45 km from Hoi An Ancient Town.

Transport options from Hoi An to Ba Na Hills

There are four realistic ways to do the trip: private car, Grab, shared tour, or a custom full-day sightseeing package. The best choice depends on how much flexibility you want, whether you already have tickets, and how important a reliable return vehicle is for your group.

Private car prices, service time and overtime

What time to leave Hoi An

The Golden Bridge is usually more comfortable in the morning. If your group has buffet lunch, children or older guests, plan about 6–7 hours at Ba Na Hills so there is enough time for cable cars, lunch, rest and slower walking.

How return pickup works at Ba Na Hills lower station

A standard Ba Na Hills round trip does not always mean the same driver sits in the same parking spot for the entire day. Minh Vu Travel vehicles operate flexibly, especially on busy days. Your return trip is still arranged, but the exact car may change depending on traffic, parking control and the vehicle schedule.

Why Grab is risky for the return from Ba Na Hills

Grab can sometimes work for the outbound journey from Hoi An to Ba Na Hills, depending on driver availability and app pricing. The problem is the return. Ba Na Hills lower station is in a mountain area, not a normal city pickup zone.

Shared tours — cheaper, but less flexible

Shared tours can be useful for solo travelers on a tight budget. Their main advantage is price. But for couples, families and groups, the day can feel less flexible because the schedule is controlled by the group tour, not your own timing.

• Shopping stops: some shared tours spend time at souvenir or shopping stops, which can be frustrating if you only want Ba Na Hills and Golden Bridge.

• Limited time at Ba Na Hills: the time on the mountain can be shorter than expected after pickups, ticket handling and group movement.

• Less convenient for families: children, strollers and extra bags are easier to manage in a private car.

Combining Ba Na Hills with Marble Mountains, Lady Buddha and My Khe

A standard Hoi An to Ba Na Hills round trip is simple: hotel pickup, Ba Na Hills, arranged return pickup, and drop-off back in Hoi An within about 8 hours. If you want to add Marble Mountains, Linh Ung Pagoda / Lady Buddha and My Khe Beach, this becomes a custom full-day sightseeing package.

This is not the standard 8-hour Ba Na Hills round trip. If you travel with small children, older guests or slow walkers, it may be better to remove one stop instead of making the day too long.

Golden Bridge timing from Hoi An

The Golden Bridge is the main reason many guests travel from Hoi An to Ba Na Hills. If you leave Hoi An between 6:30 and 7:00 AM, you normally reach the lower cable car station early enough for a better Golden Bridge experience, especially on weekdays.

Tickets — what to know before you go

Transport and entrance tickets are separate. Ba Na Hills ticket inclusions can change by season, promotion and ticket type. Standard cable car tickets usually include the main sightseeing areas such as Golden Bridge and French Village, but buffet, WOW Pass, Wax Museum, Alpine Coaster, some paid games or special experiences may not be included.
