My Son Sanctuary is a collection of Hindu temple ruins built by the Cham civilization between the 4th and 14th centuries. It is the largest Cham archaeological site in Vietnam and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. The temples sit in a forested valley surrounded by hills — the setting alone is worth the drive.

• Wear comfortable walking shoes. The paths between temple groups are uneven stone and compacted earth — sandals are not ideal.
• Bring water, a hat, and sun protection. The site has limited shade and can be hot by mid-morning even in cooler months.
• The Cham dance show runs at set times inside the sanctuary — check current showtimes at the entrance. Allow an extra 30 minutes if you want to watch it.
