Can you visit Marble Mountains, Ba Na Hills, and Linh Ung Pagoda in one day from Hoi An?
Yes — and a private car is the only practical way to cover all three without rushing.
- Marble Mountains: ~10 km from Hoi An, about 20 minutes — plan 1.5 hours on site
- Ba Na Hills: ~55 km from Hoi An, about 75 minutes from Marble Mountains — plan 4 hours on the mountain
- Linh Ung Pagoda: ~20 km from Ba Na Hills, about 30 minutes — plan 45 minutes on site
- Total service: 10 hours including all transfers and stops
The route works because Marble Mountains sits conveniently between Hoi An and Da Nang, Ba Na Hills is northwest of the city, and Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula is a natural final stop before heading back south to Hoi An. A shared tour cannot manage this efficiently — private transport is what makes the timing work.
Overview
Culture, mountain scenery, and coastal views — one private itinerary covering the best of Da Nang and its surroundings.
This private full-day tour from Hoi An combines three very different experiences. Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son) is a cluster of five marble-and-limestone hills housing Buddhist sanctuaries, cave pagodas, and panoramic views over the coastline. Ba Na Hills is a French-era mountain retreat turned resort — the cable car, the Golden Bridge held by two stone hands, and the hilltop French Village are the main draws. Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula is home to one of the tallest Lady Buddha statues in Vietnam, set against a backdrop of forested hills and the East Sea.
Because this is a private tour, the schedule is yours to adjust. You can spend more time at Ba Na Hills and skip a stop, start later if you prefer a relaxed morning, or add a quick lunch break in Da Nang city on the way back.

Travel Tips
Practical notes to get the most from each stop.
- Marble Mountains: wear shoes you can climb in. The paths are steep and uneven in places. The cave pagodas require ducking and some narrow passages — worth it for the atmosphere inside.
- Buy your Ba Na Hills ticket online the night before. Gate queues on weekends can add 30–45 minutes. Online tickets skip most of that and are often slightly cheaper.
- Bring a jacket for Ba Na Hills. The summit is over 1,400 m — typically 10–15°C cooler than the coast, and often misty even in summer.
- Linh Ung Pagoda is free to enter and takes about 45 minutes to walk around comfortably. Late afternoon light on the Lady Buddha and the sea view behind it is genuinely worth the timing.
- Dress modestly at both Marble Mountains and Linh Ung Pagoda — shoulders and knees covered is the standard expectation at active Buddhist sites.

Frequently Asked Questions
What travellers ask before booking this full-day tour.
Is the Ba Na Hills ticket included in the tour price?
No. The car price covers transport only. The Ba Na Hills all-inclusive ticket — cable car, Fantasy Park, and most attractions — is purchased separately. Buying online in advance is cheaper and avoids gate queues, especially on weekends.
Can I skip one of the stops and spend more time at another?
Yes. This is a private tour so the itinerary is flexible. If you want to spend more time at Ba Na Hills and skip Marble Mountains or Linh Ung Pagoda, that is completely fine. Just let us know your preference when booking and the driver will plan accordingly.
How much time do you need at Marble Mountains?
Around 1.5 hours is enough to climb the main hill, visit the cave pagodas, and take in the view from the top. If you want to explore more than one hill or go at a slower pace, allow up to 2 hours.
Is Linh Ung Pagoda worth visiting on the same day as Ba Na Hills?
Yes — it fits naturally as a final stop on the return to Hoi An and adds very little driving time. It is free to enter, takes about 45 minutes, and the late afternoon light on the Lady Buddha and the sea view makes it a calm and memorable way to finish the day.
Is this tour suitable for elderly travellers?
Partly. Ba Na Hills is accessible by cable car and the main areas involve moderate walking. Marble Mountains has steep steps that can be challenging — there is a lift available on site for those who prefer not to climb. Linh Ung Pagoda is mostly flat and easy to walk. Let us know any mobility requirements when booking.
Can this tour be booked from Da Nang instead of Hoi An?
Yes. The same itinerary can be arranged with pickup from Da Nang — the route and stops are identical but the driving time to each site is shorter. Contact us for the Da Nang departure rate.
